On Saturday, September 22 the Jack A. Markell Trail was officially opened, connecting the Riverfront to Historic New Castle’s Battery Park. The trail is highlighted by the connection through the Riverfront’s DuPont Environmental Education Center and continues through to the Riverwalk.
In connection with Delaware Greenways and Bike Delaware, the seven-mile trail offers cyclists an off-road path to explore the area, as well as a new access point to the Riverwalk and all its attractions.
The trail will allow an entirely different perspective to the riverfront, allowing for new ways to access all Riverfront Wilmington offers. Additionally, the Environmental Center will offer bike rental options for those on the Riverwalk who wish to tour the new trail.
