Riverfront Development Corporation to Once Again Host Fireworks Show on New Year’s Eve
December 15, 2023, Wilmington, DE- Continuing with the popular tradition, the Riverfront Development Corporation of Delaware will once again host a firework show high above the Christina River on New Year’s Eve. The show will serve as a culmination of the Riverfront’s holiday festivities and activities, as part of the Riverbright Wilmington Holiday Magic Light Display, presented by Chase.
“This free firework show along the banks of the Christina River is a festive way to ring in the new year, and the RDC is thrilled to present it once again this year,” said Megan McGlinchey, RDC Executive Director. “The 2-mile long Riverwalk is once again lit up with festive holiday lights as part of Riverbright Wilmington, so come down to the Riverfront early, grab a bite to eat, enjoy the lights, and then stay for the fireworks!”
Merry Mugs at Riverwalk Mini Golf will be open from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. so you can warm up with a hot beverage while you stroll the Riverbright light display before the show starts.
As in previous years, the show will take place over the Christina River, beginning shortly after 9:00 p.m. The fireworks will be visible from most locations along the Riverwalk, with prime viewing located between the Public Dock and Riverfront Market areas. Guests are encouraged to park in the Riverfront Commuter Lot, located at 601 South Madison Street.
