Click Your Heels Goodbye to Oz – The DCM throws farewell celebration for traveling Wizard of Oz Exhibition

FAREWELL CELEBRATION FOR THE WIZARD OF OZ AT THE DELAWARE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM — SATURDAY & SUNDAY, JANUARY 25 & 26

WILMINGTON, DE — Goodbye yellow brick road . . . The Wizard of Oz Children’s Educational Exhibition is headed home to Kansas! But before Dorothy can click her heels goodbye, the Delaware Children’s Museum (DCM) will host a weekend-long schedule of special Oz-themed programming to delight kids, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, and your little dog, too. Head on over to the DCM on Saturday and Sunday, January 25 and 26, for your last chance to enjoy the magical Land of Oz at the big yellow building on the Riverfront!

Closing weekend festivities for The Wizard of Oz Children’s Educational Exhibitioncommence on Saturday, January 25, from 9am-4:30pm, at the DCM. Special activities throughout closing weekend include experiments with touchable bubbles and bubbles of different geometrical shapes; exploring the wild world of twisters, how they form, and creating your own tornado in a jar to take home; learning about “Rubies and Emeralds and Sapphires, Oh My!” and making your own eggshell geode; a Museum-wide scavenger hunt of iconic Wizard of Oz props; and more! Plus, guests that come dressed as a character from the Wizard of Oz will receive $2 off general admission at the DCM all weekend long. The Museum’s Fun in Store gift shop will also participate in the fun with discounts on all Wizard of Oz merchandise, January 18 through January 26. The “End of Oz” Gift Shop Sale will feature discounts up to 20 percent off on all Oz merchandise for current and newly joined DCM Members, and 15 percent off for non-members.

The Wizard of Oz Children’s Educational Exhibition is the first-ever, licensed traveling educational exhibit based on the beloved movie classic. Throughout the exhibition, guests will travel from the Gale Farm in Kansas to the colorful Land of Oz, where they will explore Munchkinland, The Crossroads, The Witch’s Castle, and The Emerald City with Dorothy and her friends.
